Sid Caesar was one of the very first funnymen on TV in the early 1950s and he influenced generations of comedians and comedy writers. Mr. Caesar died on Wednesday at age 91.

He was a master of comedy whether he was working from a script or simply improvising. Here is one of my favorites as a multilingual communicator.

Sid Caesar was the first to poke fun at health food restaurants.

He was born in Yonkers and died in Beverly Hills. Sid Caesar’s wife, Florence Levy died back in 2010. He is survived by a son, Richard, and two daughters, Michele and Karen.
