RIP Jason Rivera

Submitted by ub on

NYPD Detective Jason "Tata" Rivera was a humble Latino, and 22-year-old son of immigrants, who really believed in his kind gestures.

Police officers attend a funeral service for NYPD officer Jason Rivera, who along with New York City police officer Wilbert Mora, were both killed while responding to a domestic dispute call that turned violent last week.

Rivera reportedly became an NYC policeman, so he could impact the community through individual acts of kindness. Before laying down his life for others, through his ultimate sacrifice he was a big city #hero, following his death he has become a metropolitan legend larger than life.

Read, White on Blue @NYPDnews. May God bless our fallen hero. Fifth Avenue filled with members of the paying their respects to officer and his entire and extended family.  @DOSEONEWS…………

But unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Police were attacked in at least 4 US cities within a week. Are officers being targeted?…

‘I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.’
